A Blast From the Past

My sweet friend, Angi, (yes, with no 'e') turned 39 on Tuesday, March 3rd. We celebrated her special day by pretending to be 16 again. We rocked out to 'One Night of Queen' at the Bass Hall. The European band, Gary Mullins and the Works were awesome! I swear he is Freddy Mercury reincarnated! He wore the same clothes down to the period sneakers, struck the same poses (which were mostly of his back side...) and more importantly, hit the same notes as the late, great, Freddy Mercury.

The music was loud, the lights were bright and we were caught up remembering each and every song. The set included such great hits as, Somebody to Love, Under Pressure, Another One Bites the Dust, Bohemian Rhapsody and yes, even Fat Bottomed Girls. The night was complete when they finished with We Are the Champions.

What a fun night! We had a great time giggling at all of the 'old-timers' who came to relive their past. It was even funnier when we realized we were part of them!

Thanks Angi, for always giving me a reason to smile and for adding sunshine into my life. Happy Birthday!!

Angi and me. We look GOOD!!
(Especially for a 40-something and an almost 4o)
