Which Is Better?

Which is better? An unexpected day off of school? Or your birthday? Today 'The Best Boy in the World' got both!! School was canceled everywhere in North Texas because of an ice storm last night that left 1/4 inch of ice outside on every flat surface. Although the sun was shining, we spent most of the day in the low to mid thirties. Beautiful, but cold. Blake slept in. He wanted French toast for breakfast, which was fast and easy to do. Then he spent the next hour or so trying not to 'wipe out' on the ice with his new scooter. We spent a fun afternoon at Harkins Theater seeing 'Inkheart' with Brendon Frasier. It was pretty good. The best part was just having an unexpected afternoon to spend with my most favorite people on earth, my kids. Thanks Mother Nature, for providing us with a wonderful surprise day off!

Only in Texas do they cancel school on a day like today!
